looks like we are going to have...

a white new years eve.
my preteen is bummed.
he wanted to ride his dirt bike in the woods today.
but now with the snow flakes i think not.
my teenager is at his aunts lori's.
hanging out with his aunt, uncle & cousins.
my preteen was also looking forward to going to aunt loris today & sleeping over but dad might be stuck working if it continues to snow.
we will have to wait & see what the day brings.
let me just say...
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL, BE SAFE, MAY HEALTH, HAPPINESS AND JOY FILL YOUR NEW YEAR.

IF THEY ONLY KNEW,

THERE ARE TIMES IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT I DO,
THOUGHTS FILLED WITH SORROW FIND THEIR WAY THROUGH.
THOUGH HURTFUL THE REALITY IS TRUE,
I DON'T KNOW YOUR VOICE, YOUR LAUGHTER.
MY WARM HUGS, MY LOVING TOUCH YOU HAVEN'T FELT.
SOME HOW I DREAM YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU.
I PRAY THERE COMES A TIME WE FILL EACH OTHERS DAY.

YES IT IS TRUE....

Someone asked who wrote the "JUST FOR YOU" & "YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, DON'T YOU" poems.
When I was a teenager and in my twenty's I wrote very often, but since then only once in a very long while. Lately I do feel like it is coming back. I write a thought down, then more sort of flood in, I rewrite every line until the writing reflects my exact thoughts. I am not comfortable calling my writings poems because they never rhyme...I know a poem doesn't have to rhyme but still I use the word for lack of another. This is the perfect place for me to keep a log of my writings.
So for my record, I have began writing again in Dec 2008.

What Can I Say

Those who know me well, know my favorite colors are blue, green, burgundy, generally darker colors. For the better part of this year my favorite color is pink, go figure.
So until I have the time to attempt to go fancy, this will do.

oh my gosh

Where have I been....
I should be catching up and finding a new design for my bloggin' Oh My.

On The East End Of Long Island....

it snowed all night and we ended up getting 5-7 inches,
today it is still a winter wonderland on my block as it has not been plowed,
DJ and Thomas and some of their friends can not get enough of the snow, and since our driveway slopes down it is great for sleds, snow boards etc. and the boys are enjoying it ALOT.

Even Though I Really Do Not Like The Cold...

IT IS SNOWING BIG TIME..
EVERYTHING LOOKS LIKE A BEAUTIFUL WINTER WONDERLAND...
OVER HERE ON THE EAST END IT STARTED SNOWING AROUND 11 AM AND IT IS NOW 4:45 PM
IT IS 32 DEGREES AND 3 INCHES OR SO OF SNOW AND IT IS STILL SNOWING AWAY.
VERY WINDY TOO, SO WHEN YOU LOOK OUTSIDE IT IS PRETTY MUCH A WHITE-OUT.
I KNOW TOMORROW IT WILL BE A SLIPPERY MESS,
BUT LIKE I SAID FOR NOW, WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A WINTER WONDERLAND.
AND I AM LOVIN' IT. UMMM FROM INDOORS THAT IS. =) =)

JUST FOR YOU..........

I have a Brother who's laugh is infectious,

My Brother can always turn your mood around,

I have a Brother who is gentle as he is strong,

My Brother is a family man, one to be emulated,

I have a Brother who I know is always there for me,

My Brother is a man I hold close to my heart,

I have a Brother who is my hero,

Though he doesn't know, it is true,

Lil' Brother this is written just for you.

My love for you is strong,

My love for you is consistent,

My love for you is unconditional,

My love for you holds you deep in my heart,

My love for you keeps you forever in my thoughts,

My love for you is just as a ring goes around

and around, always never ending.

A PEEK INTO WHY I HOLD THEM SO DEAR..........

Late this afternoon our 12 yr old Thomas, who by the way is SO not the kid to sit inside and do anything while there is still sunlight, anyways... he drew a beautiful picture of our family enjoying the Christmas Holiday, I love the picture, I see it as reflection of some thoughts running through his mind.
Our 15 yr old walked into his friends house after school today and the 6 yr old sister came running up to him saying "Oh DJ your here, PLEASE say you ARE going to come watch me play basket ball today, You ARE going to come right DJ."
So after a phone call home he told beautiful little Angelina he would go along to her game. Today DJ made this little girl very happy. (Angelina loves DJ)
Our oldest child Sonny is in the business of keeping people safe from
harm every day.....
Our three sons, each in their own way, are VERY special people.
I love MY boy's BEYOND compare....MY Grandbabies to, of course.
I AM TRULY BLESSED TO BE THEIR MOTHER.

FINALLY

At the end of last wk, school officials and police have a 10th grader who is being held responsible for the last bomb threat in the high school. They state this 10th grader has nothing to do with prior bomb threats ...just the last one.
Which means there are still people out there who should be held accountable
Also there has not been any new threats since my last bomb threat post.

IT IS ALWAYS BETTER......

Thanks Giving morning, I put our turkey in the oven and headed over to Lucie's. Once there TOGETHER we prepared breakfast. Then TOGETHER we peeled potatoes and such to
get her Thanks Giving meal going. I stayed at Lucie's for a few hours doing things TOGETHER before heading home. Once our Thanks Giving meal was ready, I had a bite to eat with my family and headed back over to Lucie's.
Arriving back about mid afternoon, TOGETHER we got the Thanks Giving meal on the table. As I sat & prayed & ate with Lucie, we laughed, talked and enjoyed our meal TOGETHER. After our meal we cleaned up TOGETHER. Then we watched some t.v. TOGETHER and when Lucie felt like taking a nap, I headed home.
Yes, it was extra work for me going back & forth, preparing two Thanks Giving meals in two different homes. Though, I must say... the joy and happiness my actions brought to Lucie FAR out weighs ANY extra work I may have done and Lucie's smiling face made it ALL SO VERY worth while.
TOGETHER is a huge plus for any day and even more so on a special or holiday.
I have and will continue to do my best at making sure TOGETHER is a part of Lucie's day....every day.
I love Lucie.
TOGETHER WE STAND THANKFUL !!!!

AH GEE .....

The Mom in me wants to fix it.
My 12 yr old Thomas didn't make the school basket ball team and he was pretty bummed out. Thomas lights the court up. Which is why we couldn't believe he didn't make the team. On the ride home I found myself telling Thomas the story of his brother Sonny and his high school B Ball experience. Through out high school Sonny tried out for B Ball but never made the team. A few minutes into our conversation I could see Thomas was really listening and interested. I went on to tell him that his brother kept trying out, never giving up. How Thomas friends reacted to him not being chosen was the same way Sonny's friends reacted. They could not believe it. Sonny and his friends knew EVERY place to go and play B Ball. Out doors, indoors, be it day or night they knew where there was an open court. Oh Boy and I didn't forget to mention "The Hoop Up" competition's. Also when Sonny went to college, he coached B Ball teams. When Sonny graduated college how he landed a position as Athletic Director. I went on & on. By the time I was finished telling these stories, Thomas whole mood had shifted to remembering he is on his school P.T.O. Basket ball team(students from the same school play each other) and now Thomas was asking me to see when it is registration time @ St.Anthony's for B Ball, where Thomas has played all sports offered since first grade.
So I didn't make "the school team" but I still play for the "P.T.O. and St.Anthony's", right Mom. Hey Mom when is wrestling sign up ???
I think the boy is feeling better about himself............
and I know his Big Brother is a excellent example.

Oh No, Not AGAIN

I cannot believe it.
Today there was ANOTHER BOMB threat in our local high school.
Last wk there were THREE BOMB threats in the same school.
Needless to say these threats are taken VERY seriously, as well as VERY scary.
I have a teenage son in this school and it is very hard to send him off each morning while this is happening. Yes, there are the endless talks about " if you see someone or something that doesn't seem right report it to an adult in the building. "
I cannot just chalk it off as nothing but an empty threat, how could anyone when there has been tragedy in other schools across our country from this kind of action.
I find myself thinking WHO would do something like this. It is then my memory starts flooding in news clips of other schools where the unspeakable happens as a result of this kind of action. Each time a threat has been found, the Police are called in, the entire school is emptied, the Police and their K9's begin the search. Thankfully each time nothing has been found, the school is deemed SAFE by the Police and the students and staff are able to enter the building.
Hopefully before anyone gets hurt (and or) these threats continue they find the student or students who are responsible,
WAIT - HOLD ON - I HAVE TO BACK UP HERE........
Did I just say the student or students ????
that was way off, I should have and meant to say ...
hopefully they find the person or persons who are leaving these threats,
get them the help they need and let our lives go back to "normal" without the thoughts of DAILY BOMB THREATS in our local schools.
You just don't know who it could be.
